Transient tachypnea of the newborn and familial pneumothorax

Here, we demonstrated two sibling newborn infants who developed pneumothorax while having nazal CPAP for transient tachypnea of the newborn without any other underlying factors. We think that the widespread use of nazal CPAP in the neonatal period might cause early presentation of cases with familial spontaneous pneumothorax.

Bu yazıda yenidoğanın geçici takipnesi nedeni ile yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde izlemleri sırasında pnömotoraks gelişen 2 erkek kardeş sunulmaktadır. Akciğerde kistik değişikliği olmayan, nazal CPAP dışında risk etkeni olmayan bu bebeklerin ailevi spontan pnömotoraksın erken şekli olduğu düşünülmüştür.
