We present here a case with acute appendicitis and Meckel’s diverticulitis which was clinically diagnosed as acute abdomen preoperatively. An eleven-year-old boy was found to have Meckel’s diverticulitis coexisting with acute appendicitis.Although appendicitis coexisting with Meckel’s diverticulitis is extremely rare, we suggest that the surgeon must bear it in mind during an acute appendicitis operation. If the surgeon overlooks it, the patient undergoing surgery may experience grave consequences. (Turk Arch Ped 2010; 45: 371-2)

Akut apandisit ve Meckel divertiküliti birlikteliği: olgu sunumu

Çalışmamızda klinik tanısı akut apandisit olan, ameliyatta tabloya eşlik eden Meckel divertiküliti saptanan olgu sunulmuştur. Ameliyat edilen 11 yaşındaki erkek hastada, akut apandisite eşlik eden Meckel divertiküliti saptandı. Akut apandisite Meckel divertikülitinin eşlik etmesi çok ender olsa da, bu olgularda Meckel divertikülitinin gözden kaçması ciddi sorunlara neden olabilir.(Turk Arş Ped 2010; 45: 371-2)
